About Marywood University

Marywood University is a coeducational, Catholic liberal arts university located in Scranton, which is a city in the northeastern area of the US state of Pennsylvania, serving as the county seat of Lackawanna County, also being the largest principal city in the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area, its population being approximated at a number of more than 76 400 inhabitants, making it, as well, the state's 7th most populous city.

The university was established in 1915 and was founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Scranton). It offers its students graduate programs and undergraduate degrees in over 60 academic programs, including the arts, sciences, music, fine arts, social work, and nursing, including double majors, honors and independent study programs, practicums, internships, and study abroad.

Athletics

Marywood's athletic teams are nicknamed the Pacers and they compete in NCAA Division III, Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). Their distinctive colors are green and white.
